{"id":13293,"date":"2018-11-02T11:47:17","date_gmt":"2018-11-02T15:47:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ojen.ca?p=13293"},"modified":"2019-05-23T13:12:25","modified_gmt":"2019-05-23T17:12:25","slug":"waterloo-career-day-young-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ojen2024.turnbull.co\/en\/waterloo-career-day-young-women","title":{"rendered":"Waterloo OJEN Committee Organizes Career Day for Young Women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On November 6<sup>th<\/sup>, 40 young women from the Waterloo Region spent the day connecting with women working in justice sector careers.&nbsp; <strong>Braiding Diversity into Justice<\/strong> was a full day career modeling program designed to attract greater diversity to the legal profession.&nbsp; Organized by the Waterloo OJEN Committee, this program aimed to inspire young women from diverse backgrounds to consider careers in law.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During the day they met with female role models from all areas of the legal profession including judges, lawyers, police officers, probation officers, bail supervisors and others.&nbsp; The day started with a tour the Waterloo Region Courthouse and included visits to the offices of local law firms. Through panel discussions and Q &amp; A sessions, the young women learned about career and education options.&nbsp; Most importantly, friendships were formed.<\/p>\n<p>In his message to the Waterloo OJEN Committee, the Chief Justice of Ontario, George R.
