Every year, grade 5 students from around the province take part in OJEN\u2019s Poster Challenge Program! Working with their teachers and with OJEN materials to learn about the\u00a0Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms<\/em>, students choose the Charter<\/em> right that means the most to them. They design beautiful posters that represent why that right matters for everyone in Canada!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2023 winner of the OJEN Poster Challenge in the Toronto Region is Hannah<\/strong> from John Fisher Public School.<\/p>\n\n\n

Here are the jury comments on Hannah\u2019s work:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA unique and beautifully drawn poster – all elements were incorporated beautifully with great awareness and a great perspective and understanding of justice in Canada. I greatly appreciated the incorporation and representation of Canada’s diverse communities and populations, including people with disabilities and indigenous communities, just to mention a few.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

\u201cIncredibly detailed (the provincial flags, for example). Clean, yet artistic and vibrant, and inclusive of many different populations and communities.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

\u201cI chose Hannah’s poster because it is beautifully illustrated and celebrates legal pluralism in a visually unique way.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

\u201cI chose Arya’s poster because I was blown away by the maturity of technique that went into the soldier’s face and the perspective in the Toronto city hall picture. I appreciated the whimsical style and the attention to detail the artist employed in this poster.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
