OJEN\u2019s Courtroom Visit program provides students with unique opportunities to deepen their understanding of the justice system through experiential learning. Students get a chance to observe real court in session and to directly engage with justice sector representatives, like judges, Crown attorneys, defense lawyers, justices of the peace, and many other individuals with different roles in the system. When participating in school trips to local courthouses, students and teachers enhance their understanding by animating their in-class learning through real life exposure to the justice system.<\/p>\n

Through our partnership with the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General, OJEN facilitates courthouse visits to more than 70 courthouses throughout the province. Every year, thousands of students observe the justice system in action thanks to the assistance of local Courtrooms & Classrooms coordinators at courthouses, and the lawyers, judges and other justice sector professionals who volunteer their time to meet with students.<\/p>\n
