{"id":509,"date":"2016-07-12T23:11:26","date_gmt":"2016-07-12T23:11:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ojen.turnbull.co\/?post_type=resource&#038;p=509"},"modified":"2017-01-05T13:43:29","modified_gmt":"2017-01-05T18:43:29","slug":"justice-and-the-media","status":"publish","type":"resource","link":"https:\/\/ojen2024.turnbull.co\/en\/resource\/justice-and-the-media","title":{"rendered":"Justice and the Media"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This OJEN resource has been developed to provide a foundation for students&#8217; understanding of the relationship between the media and the justice system and to develop critical thinking skills to consider issues of accessibility to the courts and confidence in media reporting.<\/p>\n<p>Developed in partnership with the Ministry of the Attorney General, it includes four modules aimed at a high school audience, each of which addresses some of the contemporary challenges of balancing interests and rights within the court system and adapting media practices to the demands of new technology and new legal issues. Each module includes one fully developed Critical Challenge which includes instruction steps, handouts, worksheets, and evaluation rubrics, as well as a number of additional ideas and extension activities that can be adapted by teachers.
