Training for justice sector volunteers
OJEN is committing to providing the best possible learning experience for youth and their allies. To do that, we offer training and continuing education opportunities for lawyers, law students, paralegals, judges, justices of the peace, and other members of the justice sector.
OJEN’s online resources include videos that share the perspectives and experiences of young people in Ontario. They also include tips and strategies for doing public legal education workshops.
Facilitator training
OJEN supports volunteers from the legal and community sectors in running public legal education programs for the public. While we encourage you to contact OJEN directly if you are interested in holding a program for youth, we have produced a short video series to help with training around specific programs and audiences.
- Guidelines for Better Legal Workshops
- Working with youth living in vulnerable environments
- Working with teachers and schools
- Running Steps to Justice workshops
- Volunteering for Navigating Police Encounters workshops
Orientation materials
We will announce new training opportunities on X, Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, and the OJEN blog.
