Together 180

Together 180 is an interactive justice education program for youth in custody or on probation. It builds legal life skills while promoting positive relationships between youth and justice sector professionals through facilitated dialogue. This multi-session program (8 to 9 sessions) is collaborative, interactive and dialogue-based.

Program goals:

  • Introduce youth to reliable sources of public legal information and legal and community-based supports (e.g. Mental health, educational and employment-related supports) available to youth post-custody;
  • Identify and practice the legal life skills young people need to navigate common law-related challenges (e.g. Housing, employment, etc.) they will encounter post-custody; and
  • Make connections between youth and justice sector professionals (e.g. lawyers, probation officers, etc.) to build respect, empathy, and understanding

Together 180 culminates with an interactive roundtable discussion with youth and justice sector professionals. Youth participants have an opportunity to share their perspectives and recommendations on how the justice system can better support youth in the justice system.

This program can be offered in-person, online or as a hybrid model. If you would like to deliver this program please contact OJEN at programs@OJEN.ca.
